Common Reasons Not to Buy a Food Commodity

You never bought this because…

1) You never need it. Perhaps it’s the best reason. Why buy something you never need. It might be useful, delectable, the best or affordable but having it is a waste of money. You never bought lambanog wine because no one drink it.

2) Too expensive. This happens to me often. I want it so badly but I can’t buy it – vintage wine. The cost is too much for my badget. Acquiring it is just a luxury.

3) Affordable but other lower priced product exist. Instinct of budget savvy moms is to buy the cheapest but good quality product. The more expensive items are expected to stay on shelves for longer periods.

4) You never like its taste. The first buy of a newly launched brand is often a trial, one or two of the smallest package. A second chance is often not given to failing brands.

5) Contain less nutrients. I bet people with nutrient preference are few. They love nutritious foods and not going to buy junks like soft drinks, instant juice drinks, artificially flavored crackers and other foods containing too many unfamiliar ingredients.

6) Poor packaging design. The overall appearance is very important. A mango juice packed in a violet colored tetra seems not right, color should be yellow. Canned sardines with no fish image are not attractive and gonna to have lower number of buyers.

7) Expired product. For keen people only. Some are not very particular regarding expiry dates. They get what they want without inspection. In general, all of us never want expired goods.

8) Damaged or spoiled. Dented or bulge can, leaking juice pouch, noodles with rat bite, greenish pork and red eyed fish. Those are dangerous to our health.

9) Unpopular. May I buy Datu Puti Vinegar? May I buy Ligo Sardines? Television, radio and magazine have a great impact on our spending habit. We have the tendency to get the things we often see and hear. This habit makes the popular more popular and the unpopular more unpopular.
