Phytochemical Contents of Native Marinduque Plants (Pharmavegetables)

From the study of Labay, P.M. of Marinduque State University, here is the list of different pharmavegetables native to Marinduque.

Most of the plants are unknown to me. Some are familiar but I had no idea that they could be eaten and have phytochemical properties. Those that I am familiar with are also available in my home province, Cavite.

Common names followed by scientific names. Below each identity are the identified medicinal uses.

The author identified the following phytochemicals: alkaloid, flavonoid, unsaturated sterol and terpene, sterol glycoside, cyanogenic glycoside, saponin, tannin, phenol and anthraquinone. I arranged the phytochemical contents on separate table. Press the image below to see clear larger view.
