BFAR Warns the Public Not to Eat Sea Foods – Red Tide

I told her not to buy any seafoods this coming market day. Why? Because there is an existing warning about red tide.

Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources warns the public – Refrain from eating seafoods such as tahong, red tide logotalaba and other shellfish due to Red Tide. These eight provinces are in Red Tide alert – Bataan, Sorsogon, Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Misamis Occidental, Leyte, Eastern Samar, Surigao del Sur.

Fish can be eaten as long as they are fresh and of good quality. No reported cases of red tide poisoning yet. Some places put a temporary ban on selling of seafood.

Safety first. Buy fruits and vegetables on next market day!

Until further notice!
