I never want to eat upo because it has a flat taste. Its like eating something with no flavor, like a plain gelatin without even sugar. My mother and my wife cooked upo with sardines. I can barely eat it.

Despite of its blunt tastes, its still a good source of vitamins, phosphorus and calcium. It also have some medicinal values. The clear limpid oil of seed is used as an emollient application to the head and as a means of relieving headache. This oil is also administered internally as means of expelling worms.
