“Breast milk is still best for your babies”. Yah! I knew that already but my baby does not want breast milk. She was able to breastfeed for two weeks and then the baby stopped feeding on mother’s breast.
She did the next option. She extracted the milk using breast pump then transferred it to feeding bottle. The strategy worked but the amount of extracted milk was not enough for our baby.
We used commercial infant formula as the last option. First we chose the expensive formula but replaced it with the inexpensive Alacta Bibo Trio because we are on a tight budget. The price is 367 pesos for 1 kg Alacta versus almost 500 pesos for 400g or the expensive brands.
Why Alacta is so affordable? It is full pack with essentials nutrients. See picture for its nutrition information.
There are two main reasons why this cow’s milk for babies is affordable:
1. It has no nucleotides – this make up the structural unit of RNA and DNA and can be found in breast milk.
2. It is manufactured here in Philippines. Imagine, most expensive infant formula travels from Europe to Philippines. It means that you are paying for the trip ticket of your expensive formula.
