Cobra Energy Drink Ingredients and Nutritional Contents

Every time I drink Cobra, I feel the same effect as Sting Energy Drink! But the first is sweeter in term of taste.

Don’t drink too much of it. This warning is written on bottle, “Warning: Excessive intake of caffeine may cause sleeplessness palpitations and similar side effects.”

Cobra Energy Drink has the following nutritive value:
-calories 195
-Total Fat 39
-sodium 49 mg
-total carbohydrates
-sugar 39g
-protein 3g
-Vitamin B1 1.35mg
-Vitamin B6 1.35mg
-niacinamide 0.7 mg
-vitamin B12
-taurine 105mg
-inositol 16mg

What I hate about softdrinks manufacturers is they way they imprint the ingredient list. It is always written on crown. Would you mind reading the crown below? You need a good magnifying glass to read it. Or better buy a more expensive canned version just to know its ingredients.

Most common soft drinks ingredients are listed here.

update: April 24, 2011

The manufacturer released the Cobra Green, the Citrus Blast. Ripe citrus color is orange. I wonder why they picked green. Does it make sense?

The tastes is a tongue biting sweet citrus. Though the only flavors I found related are nature identical flavors and citric acid. No natural citrus flavor. Auntie reported, most fanatic prefer this green version.

I spent time reading small written ingredients on corrugated part of crown. Here they are:

Carbonated water
Citric Acid
Nature Identical Flavors
Sodium Citrate
Sodium Benzoate
Ginseng powder
Niacinamide, Vitamin B3
Thiamine HCl, Vitamin B1
Pyridoxine HCl, Vitamin B6
Cyanocobalamin, Vitamin B12

    1. Afaik, approx 90mg ang caffeine ng PET (plastic bottles) and 130mg ang sa glass bottles. Recommended daily caffeine consumption is max of 200mg. So wag na po mag-2 bottles if yung naka-babasaging bote. Though, of course, we all have different caffeine tolerance.

  1. NEVER DRINK COBRA AT ALL! My cousin use to take this 2times a day. Since he is driving in UBER. After several months he have a diabetic. He’s sugar has gone up to 394 from 102 normal.. Now he is on a treatment.

    1. Are you mad? Bro it’s only recommended to drink 1 or 2 but 1 is already enough for a day and other things you eat or drink might also have sugar or caffeine so dont just blame cobra. I only drink 1 and thats it, if you are really desperate to not sleep just drink coffee and energy drinks are not recommended to regulate your sleep.

  2. I tried drinking different brands/types of energy drink like Cobra, Sting, Lipovitan, Red Bull, Monster etc. etc. and didn’t really helped me I didn’t feel energized, I waited for few minutes hoping that it would take effect after waiting but it makes me feel more sleepy or something. Is there a possible reason why?

  3. I’ve tried cobra energy drink one’s and it makes me want to cobra my boyfriend lol i mean it makes me feel malibog. It’s wierd and funny i thought i just get a full energy.

  4. Hi there,
I am still confused about the artificial color please let me know the source (synthesizer) of the drink.

    1. From the listed ingredients, Tartrazine is included. It is actually a yellow colorant, so mixing it with blue colorant makes sense. Yellow + Blue = Green. Have a nice day!

  5. Hi bro nice post very informative. May also ask if you can make a review about Pocari Sweet, Gatorade, etc… and maybe you can add the pros and cons of taking this energy drinks.

    More power!

  6. Guys i dont palpitate pag cobra pero it keeps me awake kaso saglit lang. mga 2-3 hours lang. Boooo. pero masarap. nakaka-adik! mas malakas tama ng yellow cobra kesa dun sa bago na green.

  7. because cobra has a lot of prservatives and chemicals that force the body to operate… all are chemicals and snthetic flavors… we should be smarter on what we take… our body and strength is all what we have to keep going in life.. thanks to this site! more power!

    1. Ahh! you have a good point – our body will exert effort to expel out those preservatives. It might be the real reason why we feel more energetic!

  8. Guys, please stop drinking cobra! I’ve tried it myself and always get heart problems (palpitations, etc.)

For energy I would recommend drinking organic apple cider vinegar. You can find it in SM – the brand is called BRAGGS. What you do is get a TBSP of apple cider vinegar and pour it into a glass of water.

Try it for a few days and see how you feel.

Another source for energy is cold showers, bananas, fresh coconut water (Lipa brand), and vitamin b12.

    Hope it helps.

  9. a good source of taurine and caffeine though the amounts they listed are probably not accurate.. I take 4 to 7 bottles of this everyday.. Its definitely addictive, i never gain weight since i do muay thai, carbos wont settle in my body as fat.. The most obvious effect of this drink on me is on my temper it makes me insane on even the littlest sh!t, once even made me kick some dude in the streets in the face one night , he was out unconcious, and i just ran away.. Something i did not to be proud of.. But im in control of the temper thing in cobra now.. Still taking my average amounts

    1. @mark – my friend told me that she is suffering from palpitation every time she drink cobra. Her doctor told her to stop drinking it and other energy drinks and colas.

  10. i drink 3 to 8 cobra energy drinks a day, and now, i dont even drink water anymore, if cobra is not available i always go for softdrinks or juices, and as a result, i gained more than 40 pounds.

  11. Water, sugar, citric acid and flavoring, sodium citrate, taurine, caffeine, sodium benzoate, tartrazine, inositol, ginseng powder, niacinamide(vit b3), sunset yellow, thiamine HCL(Vit B1), Pyridoxine HCL(vit b6), cyanocobalamin (Vit b12)

I drink it (strictly) once a day only, I decided to quit softdrinks(because of the bone effects thing from acids and phosphoric acid) and I am thinking if I should also quit cobra, didn’t knew the ingredients are listed on the crown, thanks to this post I found it(luckily I still have good eyesight).

I think I’ll still google out if I really should :
