The small piece of paper is a sketch, a label sketch. Someone asked me a favor to draw it on Photoshop. The paper read: Buna Lejos Pride Special 24 Bukayo. Buna Lejos is a barrio somewhere here in Indang. Bukayo is a candy made of grated coconut. I have my own version of bukayo, see it here. The word “special” could mean it is very delicious or the the flavor is unique. I never know what the number “24” means. It could mean 24 bars of yummy bukayo.
What are the missing part on this label? This lacks expiration date, ingredient list, name and place of manufacturer and net weight declaration. He never wanted to include those details. Maybe he is not yet aware of it or just saving on resources. His bukayo is packed in plastic and microwavable container. A little label is enough for the start. He gonna include lacking details soon.
I am not a good artist but some of my designs won local and regional awards. Graphic design is a vast field and all I can do are simple designs. I gonna post some of my previous work soon.
I found it hard to follow his color choices so I made some modifications and provide different color options.
1) The bright red or bright yellow. This two are the most commonly used colors for food labels. Bright colors are attractive and tend to make the consumer feel hungry and buy the product.
2) Green. It is associated with organic or safe foods. Consumer seeing the product will feel the sense of security.
3) Red Brown. Some bukayo product have brown complexion. I think the red brown shade will look good.
