Tokwa Dumplings


35 wanton or siomai wrappers
1 egg white, beaten
cooking oil


3 squares tokwa
1 medium size carrot, shredded
1 medium size bell pepper, chopped
1 box California raisins
1 bulb red onion, chopped
2 tablespoons salt
2 tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground pepper

Sweet and sour Sauce

1/2 cup water
1/2 cup pineapple juice
1 tablespoon calamansi juice
1 tablespoon sugar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon tomato ketchup
1 tablespoon cornstarch

Cooking Procedure:

Mash tokwa in a mixing bowl. Mix all filling ingredients. Wrap one teaspoon of mixture in each wanton wrapper. Dab egg white on sides to seal. You may create your own style. Heat cooking oil in a pan, deep until golden brown. Drain in a strainer. Set aside.

Combine all sauce ingredients in a saucepan. Boil while stirring constantly until the sauce is thick. Enjoy eating dumplings!
