I woke up Saturday morning. I was surprised. My left toe was in pain. Getting up on my feet was hard. Walking was harder. There was a sudden impulse of intense pain on every step. Pain persisted the next day. I took Planax twice but there was no effect. Then my better half suggested to consult a doctor. To undergo examination and buy the right medicine. I refused!
This is not the first time I experienced this toe pain. It is happening every time I drink too much energy drink (like Cobra and Sting) and eat too much pork fat. I drink energy boosting beverage every time I am sleepy and need to finish a lot of works. On the other hand, pork fat is irresistible – its the most delectable part of meat.
If I see a doctor. He will give the right medicine to cure my toe pain. Perhaps advise me to refrain from eating those foods.
After one week of culprit foods abstinence, I am now walking straight though there is still a slight pain. I know the pain will go away eventually.
I never wanted to know the right over-the-counter drug for my toe pain. If I did, I might be tempted to eat those food again and just take medicine afterwards. Not good practice for the liver.
Food is like a fuel. It gives as energy to live. Energy to do our every day work and enjoy life. Just like fuel, it has impurities. Some have more impurities than others. Some are cleaner than others. Our body has mechanism to expel out those dirt but might fail if too much are taken. We have to watch carefully our food intake. We must take good and avoid bad.
It was 11pm already. It was time to go to bed. But before that I got some snack and ate. Spent few minutes finishing up articles then slept.
The regular meal is three times a day. The breakfast, lunch and dinner. Plus the two snacks in between, total of five. The midnight meal or snack is not necessary. People should be sleeping from around 8-9pm to 5-6am. The body metabolism during sleep is slow, the energy consumption is slow.

The answer depends upon the situation. In my case, I am spending the night up to 11-12pm working. Writing blogs and doing other stuffs. The food I ate during dinner is burned already before midnight. My stomach will surely crave if I never ate anything. I only ate enough to satisfy my hunger. Eating too much will surely make me fat.
Some people have an erratic form of job. They are doing a day shift or night shift work. Eating a midnight meal during night work is a necessity. They won’t be effective if they don’t eat.
Getting fat is possible if one is just waking up in the middle of the night just to eat and sleep after. Or, he is eating too much.
How many of you have heard, ” never drink cold water immediately after eating fatty foods”? The next question is how many of you believed in the statement?
Fatty foods like pork back fat and chicken skins should be avoided. They tend to increase the amount of bad cholesterol in our system. Accumulation might result to unwanted events.
Pork is more delectable if cooked with back fat. Pork barbecue, adobo and sinigang are irresistible. The main meal of every occasion consist of pork dishes and one or two vegetable viands. Avoiding fatty dishes is hard due to these circumstances.
So in case you cannot avoid eating cholesterol rich foods, do not drink called water immediately after doing so. I never found any supporting documents about this but there are several theories that might explain the statement.
Animal fats are solid at room temperature. They are still liquid before consumption cause they cooked or reheated before every meal. They are still liquid inside our body but it changes when we drink cold water. Stomach might get cold enough to solidify liquid fats. Solid fats take longer to digest.
Fat and water and immiscible. Drinking cold water immediately will make fat float to upper part of stomach. Time for excretion is longer and therefore more cholesterol will be absorbed by the system.
The statement might not be true but following it will do no harm. I am not telling to eat meat as much as you want nor giving the freedom to eat fatty foods without the guilt. Stay away from them as much as possible.
